These Madshus boot covers make the difference! Ski further and longer with warmer, dryer toes. The extra insulating layer of Neoprene is the key. Note: Size up! These boot covers fit Madshus performance and race boots. They are snug and fit best on a narrow styled boot. They are not meant for wide recreational touring or back-country boots.
It was the fit that sold us on this boot. There's something special about how a leather boot fits, feels, and breathes. The BCX 5 hugs your foot, providing great security and support for the unpredictable conditions of out-of-track skiing. With a medium BC flex, striding through rolling fields and woods is comfortable on the foot and heel. There's enough built-in weather protection and insulation for several hours of BC bliss, but a pair of gaiters will extend your adventure!
The special back-country sole of the Offtrack BC boot series gives you stability and reliable power transfer. This is a boot you want on your feet when you are out exploring the winter woods. It's warm and roomy for socking-up; feet stay dry with the built-in gaiter; there's added support from the ankle cuff; the heels hugs well; and forefoot flexes nicely in the toe box guarding against heel blisters. A great boot for making your own tracks. Good for wide-ish feet.

Our customers are often looking for a boot with "more support." That means more foot and ankle support. The XC Control My Style gives you both. Injected Exterior Heel Cap cradles the back half of the foot with rigid support giving you more stability and drive in the boot from the bottom up. The articulating cuff snugs up the ankle for upper support. This is what Fischer has to say about this boot: "Supportive all-around women’s-fit boot with adjustable lateral Ankle Support Cuff. Water repellent Comfort Guard insulation keeps toes warm. Moisture wicking lining and Fischer Fresh keep the inside fresh all winter. The TURNAMIC® Performance sole setup for balance on-ski and safe walking off-ski. Dry, warm & breathable The Triple-F Membrane keeps water and snow from entering boots, while allowing excess heat and moisture vapor to escape. The climate inside the boot stays warm and dry, no matter what the outside climate is. Comfort Guard for warm feet Inside the boot, a light, thin layer of water-repellent insulation material offers additional thermal protection in the forefoot and toe area to keep the skiers warm as they glide through the snow."
This boot is sweet in rolling back country terrain. "Light, comfortable, and warm" is what our customers like about it, compared to a plastic boot. It's a sturdy boot with very secure ankle and heel plus a broad toe box. This model of Alaska boot requires a 75mm BC 3-pin binding (with or without a cable). Sizing is tricky so let us help you with that.
These are our favorite boots for young skiers who go fast and are moving on to skate skiing.

The tough leather upper stands up to breaking trail in frozen crust, the high cuff helps keep snow out and provides excellent lateral support when you feel the need to drop a knee into a telemark turn when in soft snow.
